Part 1: General Rules & Safeguarding Guidelines

Parte 1: Normas generales y directrices de protección

All volunteers must read and agree to these general rules before starting their placement. The safety and well-being of the children are our highest priority.

Todos los voluntarios deben leer y aceptar estas normas antes de comenzar su periodo de voluntariado. La seguridad y el bienestar de los niños son nuestra máxima prioridad.

  1.  Two-Adult Rule: Never be left alone in a closed room with a single child. Always ensure there are at least two adults present, or that doors remain open.
  2. Professional Boundaries: Do not give children gifts, money, or personal contact information. All communication must go through official organization channels.
  3. Appropriate Interaction: Physical contact should be limited to side-hugs, high-fives, or fist-bumps. Never engage in rough housing or disciplinary actions.
  4. Photography Policy: Do not take, post, or share photos or videos of the children on personal social media accounts. Photos must have faces covered and be posted by the team leaders only.
  5. Mandatory Reporting: Any disclosure of abuse, neglect, or harm must be immediately reported to the UTT house managers.
  6. Zero Tolerance: The use of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs before or during volunteer shifts is strictly prohibited.
  1.  Norma de los dos adultos: Nunca te quedes a solas con un solo niño en una habitación cerrada. Asegúrate siempre de que haya al menos dos adultos presentes o de que las puertas permanezcan abiertas.
  2. Límites  profesionales: No des a los niños regalos, dinero ni información de contacto personal. Toda la comunicación debe realizarse a través de los canales oficiales de la organización.
  3. Interacción adecuada: El contacto físico debe limitarse a abrazos laterales, chocar los cinco o chocar los puños. Nunca participes en juegos bruscos ni en medidas disciplinarias.
  4. Política sobre fotografías: No tomes, publiques ni compartas fotos o vídeos de los niños en tus cuentas personales de redes sociales. En las fotos deben taparse los rostros y solo pueden publicarlas los responsables del equipo.
  5. Obligación de informar: Cualquier indicio de abuso, negligencia o daño debe comunicarse de inmediato a los responsables de la residencia de UTT.
  6.  Tolerancia cero: Queda estrictamente prohibido el consumo de alcohol, tabaco o drogas ilegales antes o durante los turnos de voluntariado.
